Orphan Sponsorship

Full Kafala is a full sponsorship program that was launched in May 2021. This program provides financial support to mothers, with mothers receiving $50 for each supported child for up to a maximum of two to three children per household. The support goes towards essential needs of the child (food, clothing, and healthcare) and educational expenses. As a prospective supporter, It can also fully sponsor one child (pay $50 monthly) or can co-sponsor with other supporters and pay partially. Ixsaan team regularly monitor households to ensure children are continuously going to schools. 

Achievement: so far, fifteen (15) children are fully sponsored living in disadvantaged settings in Hargeisa, namely Sh Omar, Badhka, Masalaha and Statehouse IDP camps. Each child receive $50 per month for financial substitute to help mothers get education for their children, shelter and food at least.  

This project really helped mothers who were not able to feed their children earlier let alone education and health care. Some of the mothers were not able to go and get even the lowest jobs like cleaning houses for the others and washing clothes as results of their weakness, health problem, mal nutrition, hunger and severe and harsh situations that they face each and every day for that reasons there were nights and days that these children were sleeping a starvation. While others were not getting chance to look after or even aware the whereabouts of their children to just get food since morning until the end of the day or even mid nights with possibility that they may not meet  with client who needs their services.

Amina Adan, is the mother of 3children, when we first visit her, her children were locked to their house to look for food, and since she can’t avoid to fully paid the rent landlord were evicting from time to time and this makes her to get very ill, some of her relatives take away from her children and let her recover sometime. Our last visit to Amina’s house, she was healthy, happy and grateful to see her children sleeping peaceful, food accessible as they go school.
